Awesome little kit, and the trailer looks nice.

On your problem i have had that happen before when the gallery accidentally gave me the wrong code, (or i copied the wrong line)

Nice review Mats , ......... very cool kit !!!

To quote Will Smith in INDEPENDENCE DAY , .......... " I gots to get me one of these !!! "

What is this? For what would it have been used?

This is a sight for artillery and i'm sure they used it for other surveying purposes.

I dont have a real life pic of it, but this is similar....

I got this from a book from the library , i dont claim any rights...

I found some interesting facts/photos on the telemeter , facts and some theory from me very own melon .

All facts found on one of the most valuable reference sites on the internet , http://forum.axishistory.com/index.php

Fact :
Don't know if these are KDO 40 telemeters but , ........ Early war VoMag Luftwaffe aa units had four vehicle mounted 88's one or more searchlights and a telemeter , vehicle mounted or towed and ground mounted .
Henschels , Mercedes , Bussing Nags , were a few vehicles mentioned .
Some of these units have vehicles with Luftwaffe pioneer units with towed telemeters.

Theory : The more I research the KDO 40 , the more I think that its origins are navel .
The only pics. and info I've found have early war Western and Eastern blitz connections .

After the blitz , West/East , and the Germans were in more static positions [ minus the North African and Russian campaigns ] , these telemeters were found in bunkers and fortified positions on the Westwall , coastal Norway , Italy etc.
Pictures of the telemeter being mobile are almost non-existent , post [ late ] 1943 on .
More info and facts are needed !!!

Thanks for the research,Glenn! (y)

Ones again you came up with some very interesting pictures!

Greetings,Ron.

Fantastic pics Glen. I have searched all over for pics like that and found very few. Maybe now I can start my bussing nag flak. Awesome (y) (y) (y) (y)

James , , I had to trick google and the site search function on Axis history .
Instead of searching for " telemeter " , I had to search for who used it , Luftwaffe aa units , that gave results .

Today I'm going to chase down it's usage on ships .
