Damn John,
It's been decades since I heard somebody mention a pyrograve! I had forgotten all about them!
Bob
Pretty easy.
Obtain 3 inch thick blue insulation foam (XPS expanded polystyrene foam).
Cut out basic shape. I used a Proxxon foam cutter.
Sketch out stone pattern and carve into foam with pyrograve (hot knife)
Roll surface with crumpled aluminum foil ball to impart texture.
Cut thin strips to make roof, gutter, window frame, any other raised detail
Wood texture added with stiff bristle brush.
That's it! Oh yeah glue with PVA. Others will melt it.
I believe PVA is the yellow wood type glue. Once it is dried it doesn't react to water so much. It is also a lot stronger than the old white glue.
