Okay I'll build a black widow for Tom. Mine is a Model T though and is currently in transit.

Iron Mike is graciously going to help me as this will be my first car. Doing this for my buddy Tom as he was building a Black Widow. Looking at maybe finding the 57 Chev Black widow. See what happens.

Nice James, I'm sure Tom would have loved this!
And good luck with your first carbuild!

Well I guess its a good thing I bought 2 cars. Picked up a Scale Auto mag to read a review about the Black Widow and found the kit does not have a tranny, drive shaft differential or rear axle. Weird.
James

Weird is right! I have several 1/24 scale Monogram kits we can pull parts from, I'll look tonight.

You still considering the aircraft meets auto kind of build? I have a few ideas, we need to chat. :D

I'm thinking for the instruments. I think the wood dash like we discussed. I'm considering cutting off the bucket on back and making a stake type box all in natural wood. Also had the thought of all chrome being removed and then painted silver, followed by a coat of future with a few drops of purple ink. Thinking a deep metally purple bordering on black would look good. Hard to explain, might make a test patch and do it and show if it is what I want.

James there's a local hot rod shop that was one of my clients, he produced products for hot rod trucks, one of them was a wooden bed but with chrome strips between the slats. Maybe something like that for your stake truck?

You've got it all sorted out! Here's a color I have used, https://www.frontlinehobbies.com.au/products/TES-52922?TESTORS%20BOYD%20SPRAY%2052922%20BLACKN%20BLUE%20PEARL%20MODEL%20MASTER I shot mine over black primer, seems like I have a picture of that one around here somewhere. The stake bed would be striking, whatcha thinking about for the engine? :ro:

The engine is your call. I have no clue about cars except as a conveyance from point a to b.

Okay I cut off the box and am closing up the cab. Not really much to see, but figured I should do something.
