Back from Vacation

Sherman 18

Master at Arms
Well since my stepson had joined the Navy he has been in training for almost a year now. He did not know if he was going to get leave to come before shipping out. So we took a nice long road trip down to Pensacola Florida to see him. Saw a lot of cool stuff took thousands of pictures (yeah thousands)

Oh what a museum of Naval Aviation they have on that base. I will say I've been to the Airforce museum in Dayton a number of times, this one has that one beat hands down. I only got a 3 hours inside and only got part was through the first building. Really could have used 3 days here

Then it was off to the USS Alabama museum, that one is cool also, still was on time limits I did not get any pictures of the armor but for one. I could have used one full day here

Then off to New Orleans and National WWII museum. Mixed feelings about this one. Glad I went.

Then off to Fort Hood (yeah lots of fun there) could have used two days here, in cooler weather.

Then off to Dealey Plaza, I was impressed with the spot of history

Then home

I'm up loading photos into the gallery now did see lots of neat equipment. My plan is to put them all into real thing as I have before.

I'm going to give you a little tease before I go to bed

I believe it is EE11 URUTU Brazilian armor car used by Iraq, I'm not up on armor cars myself, but I have never seen one before.

That's right. It's the URUTU, made by ENGESA (deceased company), who made also EE-T1 OSÓRIO.
