Anyone running Java today ??

Incidentally, anyone running java today ? I gather we are not supposed to use it and mine is now showing its out of date despite updating today

I've seen the news about it but our security group hasn't taken any action so I'm sort of taking their lead. Probably need to read up on the exploit to see if there's any real danger.

My installed version (7) is showing out of date despite updating today. Non of the streaming financial sites work over here unless you click disregard out of date cert.

When I got to work this morning, our IT Manager had sent out a company wide email saying that everyone was to remove any Java programs installed, and that each employee was supposed to check in w/ the IT Manager to verify they've removed Java. Apparently we're taking it pretty seriously.

I meant to update this the other day. We got notice from our security group to roll back to a 6 version of java, update to 7.11 or remove. We updated those who had it, those who didn't, figure they didn't need it anyways.

Everyone probably knows this but, they are talking about JAVA not Javascript which is something entirely different. Some people get them confused which is why I'm mentioning it.

strangely i didn't have a problem until my machine auto updated to 7.11. It was then i got the expired security certificate warning. All seems well now but i have had to tell AVG professional to ignore the expired cert warning. I have re loaded 7.11 a couple of times but it still says its expired.

I had a problem with the AVG scan safe feature timing out on my Mom's computer, not sure if there was something with AVG's services or what. Disabled it and she's rockin' Facebook on again.
