A blast from my past.

I was excited come across some pics of this tugboat. I spent a lot of time on it back in the 1980's working as a deckhand for the Mississippi River tour company Memphis Queen Lines, now called Memphis Riverboats.
I have some great memories with this boat, Like the time two of the captains, that were best friends, getting into a fist fight on the fantail over something silly.
And sleeping between the idleing twin Catapiler engines in the winter, best rest ever!
It was built in 1953. Named the Anoka when the Queen Lines bought it to push their party barge and re-named the Tom Meanley.
Thrilled to see it's still going as the Dawn Star. I can make out Ft. Pierce Florida on the stern.
In the vintage Queen Line fleet pic the pilot house of Tom Meanley (circled in red) can be seen. The date says 2009, but this photo is from much earlier.

Update- Now I'm seeing that the tug was last registered in Louisiana under the name Dawn Star around 2006. The search goes on for the current location.
