I decided that this would be my first build of 2016:

I was going to build it OOB because it only has the option for a closed canopy and the cockpit is a bit sparse but, well, that didn't happen. The only addition I made to the cockpit was a set of Eduard PE belts.

The IP decal is nice but I really wish they would mold in some corresponding raised detail in the plastic.

I didn't do anything to the cockpit sidewalls because they will be virtually impossible to see with the canopy all closed up. I did add a little bit of radiator detail in case anyone ever shines a light up in there...

Added some brake lines for fun.

Thanks to some links to some photos provided by another modeler I got this silly idea to add the cowl flap linkages.

I also decided I would cut off the elevators and drop them. Don't ask me why, I just did it!

It is now ready to all go together and get to the fun part (for me) of painting and decaling and weathering.

Hope you like it so far and thanks for looking in.

Very nice! I have this one in the stash and plan on modeling it as Tex Hill's aircraft.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

I've put the paint and decals on this one. It's taken me forever and I don't know why because this is such a nice little kit. Anyways I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Looking very good Adam ... what did you use to cut those elevators ??? ... I've been looking for a saw that would cut like that ... excellent paint & progress ... :pilot
