Airfix 2026 Range Launch

There are several re-releases, some with new parts and/or decals and some with the original decals. Some special multi-kit boxings with a new "Legends" series introduced, the first release featuring Douglas Bader's aircraft, Bulldog, Hurricane and Spitfire in 1/48. New tools in 1/72 aircraft are a Canberra B.2 and Ju 52/3mg4e. In 1/48 is a Jaguar T.1/T.2 and Phantom FG.1. In 1/35 vehicles are new parts for Cromwell VII/VI CS and Stalwart Mk.2 Limber and a new tool FV603 Saracen Mk.5 armoured car. They will also be expanding their masking set range

Cheers,

Thanks @RichB, I don't even have to view the video as you answered my questions! :P

OK, I will watch later. Tante Ju interests me... I still have an unbuilt Italeri kit though and no decals for this one (or two once I get a clearer image of the code on the flying one):

Airfix will certainly get the chaps at RAF Luton out of their seats with a new-tool 1/72 Canberra. This will undoubtedly bear "sequels" in the Canberra story with new parts and decals for more modern and USAF marks.

The new 1/72 Tante Ju looks kinda cool. Their 1/72 B-25 is a fine little kit.
They sure are pushing the 1/72 Typhoon II kit, aren't they?

They could have left the Vintage Classic turd 1/72 Catalina in the bin. Toy features and clumsy detail make this a no-go for me.
The Academy 1/72 P-boat has Airfix beat by a mile and at a reasonable cost.

I never have understood the appeal of a Fairey Gannet. (Gannet? Gan-nette?) I distrust contra-props.

The new-tool 1/48 Royal Navy Phantom II FG.1 is a interesting choice. One of the decal schemes could have been more colourful.

New decals for the 1/48 EE Lightning kit won't fix the crude details and imprecise fit of the original kit. A UK company should have done better by it's Home Team on this one. Reissues of models with new decals spanks of the boring way Hasegawa does business.
Mexican AF Vampire?
Ho-Hum.

1/35 Saracen? Hmm. Do a Stolly and a Saracen share driveline in common?

Reissuing the 1/76 & 1/72 Vintage Classic kits would only be a boon, if they sold for the Vintage Classic price, in (hem) my view.

Still no 1/72 scale Royal Navy MGB-82.

Their Catalina was my second aircraft kit, after their MiG-15. Former painted in white shoe polish and the MiG in nail polish (red aerobatics team). Yes, I was EXTREMELY young then!

As for the Mexican Vampire, that is the kit I was waiting for as my Hobbycrap Vampire has the decals but the kit is... well, crap!

There's a kid in our club from Mexico. He served in the USMC after earning his citizenship. Respect all the way around. Most of his models are built in Mexican AF markings. I have grown weary of such things, I suppose. I certainly get why your interest is piqued in this decal set!
You may also be interested in the RAF Vampire mouth markings of the original 2021 release, my toothy friend!
Keep your garlic and crucifix handy! :yipee:

It just shows how different people see things differently :)

I thought the 1/48 Airfix Lightning was a superb kit and did a review of it about 20 years ago

Indeed. Your countrymen on X have been lobbying Airfix for a new-tool in 1/48. They are most unsatisfied with the original issue.
Your 1/48 Lightning looks like all your builds do. Precise, well constructed and finished with care and expertise.
