Aftermarket metal for Academy's M3 Grant

I have been having trouble finding suitable aftermarket photoetch for Academy's M3 Grant. Eduard make an interior and exterior set but it does not seem to have a great deal of detail.

Griffon on the other hand make a nice set of PE but it is for the American M3 Lee. As best as I can determin there are at least a couple of items applicable to both but is there anyone out there who knows the similarities and differences between the two tanks? Seeing as the two kits are both Academy I would hope that they are similar dimension wise but would it be worthwhile getting the Lee etch for the Grant?

Thanks in advance....JO.(y)

Oh yeah.... and those damn tracks.... can the M3Lee's be used for the Grant? And would you go Friulmodel or Modelkasten?...or something else entirely different?

Not sure on the PE I thought Edward did some, inside and outside.

For the track go here, the stuff is great!

Also on track if it is the flat pad track you are looking for you mite want to try AEF Club I have used it also and will say I loved it too.

It is the Sprue Brothers link, but you can see what the box looks like.

Hope that helps ya some.

The Lee sets can be used for the Grant. The best thing about the Grant is that the incorrect suspension dimension of the Lee has been improved.

Sherman 18 has is right, the tracks from Panda Plastics (the first link) are very well done and withstand some abuse, unlike the AFV Club ones. Please note that either track mentioned will require a small shim to be added between the Academy drive sprocket wheels as the kit is on the narrow side while both tracks are the correct dimension.

Last, you may want to get a British aerial guard from one of the many that produce them. I prefer LionMarc Model Designs but Orange Hobby makes one I like as well. I have yet to purchase the RB Models one so I can't comment there.

I hope this is of some use,
