That is pretty amazing! I seem to remember someone from here seeing this piece at a show and it had the radio report from the actual event tied in sound-wise, didn't it Bob? Great to see these pics as it really does all of his hard work justice...

That was me I think. Yes, it did have the recording. It looks much better in person than in photographs!

and me I saw this superb piece at last years MMSI Chicago show and you actually sit in it and be part of the experience, I was literally blown away ( well not as much as the Hindenburg )

He`s a great bloke and a good laugh that Lewis !

Lewis and I have been close friends since 1981. During the 80s, we used to travel to shows all over the world together. He lives outside St. Louis in Ste. Genvieve. He worked for VLS from 1985 to 1989. Lewis is an experience all by himself! I don't think that man has a mean bone in his body, but, get him pissed and he is nobody to mess with, even at 66 years of age. Several guys at VLS learned that over the years. I once saw him pick up a bouncer at a bar and throw him out the door onto a sidewalk! :D :D

Here he is with me on a recent visit. I am close to 6 feet, so you can see, he is a big boy!

He is just loaded with talent. Besides modeling, he can take a piece of wood and carve the most amazing things. Many of his scratch built models began with a wood carving that he vac-formed over with styrene plastic to make the hulls or fuselages. Back in the 80s, he built a scratch B-52 in 1/35th scale. The wing span was longer than his 6' 4" frame. It is still in the S.A.C. Museum in Omaha. I wish I could get him on a computer.
