A Glorious 38 C Morning

Where I live the average high temperature ranges from 66F in January to 78F in August. When the daytime temp drops below 60F people wear parkas, wool hats, and gloves. On the 1/2 dozen days per year that it snows in the higher elevations of the mountains about 40 miles east of my home, people drive out to frolic in the temporary winter 'wonderland'. I spent a couple of winters in Wisconsin and know what a heavy snowfall looks like and how dangerous sub-zero temperatures can be.

I moved to LA (Lower Alabama) in 1981 and out of the deep South in 1997. I revel in the cold air, leaves turning in the fall, football outdoors in the chill of October... A few weeks of inconvenient cold is a small price to pay for the joy of 4 real seasons.

I complain about it, no doubt. I earned the right.

Been balmy here as of late...almost near 30 F...we've had occasional snow but the big drops have been south near NYC...
