the chain and sprocket looks awesome!
and the wheel has a nice worn look, i like it alot!

I'd say that was off the chain, but.... IT'S SO FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!! The paint looks great, and oh, that PE linkage- wow! :drinks

Is it a US specs '82? I had a '83, and the European '82's where quite different from yours. 18" wheels front and rear, and in the later com-Star type, as on the 82-83 1100R and CX500 Turbo.

I really regret selling mine. Of everything I have owned, my '83 900F was my most precious.

Those PE Chains are off the hook. I would love to find one for the big Harley I was suppose to build two years ago.

Great progress so far. I've been so interested several times in getting one of those chains for any of the motorcycle kits I've got, but just havent ever done it. Once of these days...

I built a bike with a working chain a year ago

https://www.modelersalliance.com/forum/lets-be-civil/93028-tamiyas-little-rc166-gp-motorcycle

This one had metal pins and rollers with PE side plates. TBH the spoked wheels were the tricky bit.
Good luck with your build :) i have just bought another Tamiya bike to build and another "real" bike to re build so watching this with interest :)

I scanned my dads old plate. Its still how it was when I took it off back then same dirt etc.
also notice the little bit of dirt on the underside of the fender
