2012 Year End Review

Still a few days to go to be able to finish something so I'll hold off for now.

BTW, is there a picture posting limit per post? I want to know if I'll need to split my post in two or not.

Probably will need to split the thread for you Mark, but no, there is no limit as far as I know.

Busy trying to finnish my road warrior and the roof in our new kitchen...!!!
Wonderful to see all the great models that has been built during this year :)
My list is coming soon to :)

Well, it is almost New Year's Eve, and I cannot see myself finishing anything more before the end of the year. Therefore, I'm going to take the time now to post my Year in Review as is my tradition on all the Forums I frequent.

This year, I've only completed 44 models for the whole year. That low count can be attributed to three things:

1) LOADS of work this year that kept me away from the workbench.
2) I worked on six large and complicated 4-engined aircraft that took a lot of time and work to make them look well enough to show. Only three of those got completed this year, the other three are still in progress.
3) I started the 1/72 scale Dora railway gun that has taken a ton of time to get where I am now with it. I am hoping to finish that gun next year.

Okay, enough excuses for my poor production, now on to the models themselves. All of these are in 1/72 scale. Also, these are posted in no particular order of completion or anything.

I'll start with my aircraft since I completed so few.

First off are two of my British Hawks. One was done as an interceptor, the other as a strike aircraft.

British BAe Hawk ADV:

British_BAe_Hawk_ADV_I.JPG

British BAe Hawk Strike:

British_BAe_Hawk_Strike_I.JPG

One of these was Testor's, the other was Airfix if I recall correctly (which I probably don't). I can't remember which was which.

Next is my Testor's B-57G Night Hawk light bomber:

US_B_57G_Night_Hawk_I.JPG

Now for the F/A-18 Hornet flown by Capt Steve Hillman in "Independence Day". This kit was a Lindbergh kit:

US_FA_18C_Hornet_I.JPG

Onward now to my two rotary wing aircraft I built. First is the RevellAG Kamov Hokum Ka-50W:

Russian_Ka_50W_Hokum_I.JPG

And from the US we have the Hobby Boss UH-1C Huey Hog:

US_Army_UH_1C_Huey_Hog_I.JPG

And wrapping up my aircraft are the three four-engine transports I completed this year.

The first one done is the Heller C-160 Transall in German markings:

German_C_160_Transall_I.JPG

Next I finished the US Air Force C-130A Hercules:

US_C_130A_Hercules_I.JPG

And finally, the third transport I finished; the Roden AN-12 Cub:

Russian_An_12_Cub_I.JPG

That completes the list of my aircraft for 2012, now for all my 1/72 scale armor. This year, my British and Commonwealth Armies took delivery of the following:

ACE British Tourer staff car:

British_Tourer_Staff_Car_I.JPG

Dragon British Churchill Mk IV:

Dragon Canadian Churchill Mk III

ACE German Kfz 21 Staff Car, used by Rommel:

Several pieces of artillery were delivered as well, starting with the...

Next came a truck, the MAC Distributor's Mercedes 3000 cargo truck:

This is one of three of these I have. This one is the first one finished.

Dragon's German Neubau Fahrzeug No 3-5:

More light vehicles for the Germans. This is ACE's German SdKfz 13 Scout Car:

Followed by Roden's Opel Omnibus:

German_Opel_Blitz_Omnibus_I.JPG

And finally, another tank, Dragon's T-34/76 1941 Beute:

German_T34_76_Beute_I.JPG

My Italian Army took delivery of the smallest model I'd built this year, Doc Model's CV-35 Tankette:

Italian_CV35_I.JPG

My Middle Eastern Armies picked up a couple of vehicles; my Iraqis got an ACE AT-3 Sagger:

Iraqi_Sagger_I.JPG

While my Israelis got a Frankenstein model consisting of a Dragon Sherman with the Corporal Overby's Motor Pool M-51 conversion kit to make this M-51 Super Sherman:

Israeli_M_50_Super_Sherman_I.JPG

My Japanese Army took deliver of a few models this year. First is the Dragon Japanese Ha-Go Early Version:

And the Dragon Japanese Ha-Go North China version:

Japanese_Ha_Go_NC_I.JPG

Next was a Dragon Japanese Chi-Ha Early Version tank:

I have the late version; I need to get it started soon. Finally, my Japanese got a little Type 95 Kurogane staff car:

Japanese_Type_95_Kurogane_Car_I.JPG

And now my Russians. My Russian Army got quite the boost to their forces this year, starting with the eight T-34/76's that I built all at once.

Now for some of the more modern stuff my Russians got.
This is another MAC Distributor's kit of the Russian UAZ 469 light utility vehicle that Russia developed to replace their GAZ 69 jeep:

Next is an ICM ZiL 157 Command Truck:

And finally, a couple of Russian Railway subjects. This first one is the Hobby Boss Russian Drasine "Kraznaya Zvezda":

And this is the Russian Armored Train "Dzerzhinets":

This last one is Trumpeter's M1A1 Abrams with the mine rollers on it:

And there they are, all 44 of the models I finished for 2012. If you want to see what's coming in January, feel free to check out my Works in Progress Thread for a sneak peek!

What a year! Hopefully I'll be able to finish more than this next year. Meanwhile, thanks for looking in; comments are welcome.

That work is stunning. It is fine art by any definition.
