1/72 SdKfz 234/4 Panzerspahwagen-OK OK! IT'S DONE

Hey guys! Just thought I show you what I have been up to. While I was waiting for the next addition to "Paris Rest Stop" to arrive I thought I would take a "small" detour and work on one of my newly arrived kits. I decided to go for a Roden 1/72 scale SdKfz 234/4. The kit has alot of little details, but you know I can't leave well enough alone. So I added some more like grab handles, headlight and horn wiring, radio w/headphones, new antenna and wiring, added folded handle for the jack, new exhaust pipes(drilled out), open storage bin with toolbox and tools, hasps and padlocks, width indicator poles, and new lift hooks :whhh I think thats it for now. Now be advised I didn't do alot of research on this one so if I got it wrong well we'll just call it braille practice for the May build. I just put details where I thought it made sense. Painting is yet to come, but here are some pic's so let me know what ya think.

Oh I almost forgot don't miss the bucket on the front bumper.

Re:1/72 SdKfz 234/4 Panzerspahwagen-PAINT

Well the next item for "Paris Rest Stop" has arrived so I've got to start wrapping this "little" job up. Began painting. Started with a good even coat of Tamiya Dark Yellow, highlighted on the edges with a lighter shade of red brown, and then the camo pattern using Tamiya Deep Green and Red Brown. Next came a general oil wash of black. I then did some preliminary dry brushing white. Next on the to-do list will be detail painting of items and chipping. Here are a few pic's of last nights work. Comments welcome.

Re:1/72 SdKfz 234/4 Panzerspahwagen-UPDATED-12/4

Hi gang,

Well last night saw the adding of detail paint, some chipping and a little weathering. Next will be more weathering and some decals. I will also be looking for a suitable base to put the model on when it is done. Some progress pic's for you guys to look at.

Re:1/72 SdKfz 234/4 Panzerspahwagen-UPDATED-12/4

Thanks Laura!! Got to keep in shape for May.

Did a little more work to the "wagen" over the weekend. I added the decals and a few more chips. Next on the list will be some stowage bed rolls helmets and such.

Today I worked on the base and got a pretty good start, but still needs some work. Here's some pictures of how everything looks to this point. Comments and observations are welcome.

Re:1/72 SdKfz 234/4 Panzerspahwagen-ON BASE 12/8

This is very, very nice work! The exhausts are very well done, and the effort you made to scratch build some parts, nice!

Re:1/72 SdKfz 234/4 Panzerspahwagen-ON BASE 12/8

Thank you aenea!! Added details in this scale just make the model look better if they are done well. Sadly I don't always do things as well as I would like

Thanks

Re:1/72 SdKfz 234/4 Panzerspahwagen-ON BASE 12/8

OK OK!!! It's finished! I'll go back to the group builds where I belong. Added some stowage and even a map. I did a little more dry brushing and called it done. I hope you like what I have done. Comments are welcome and thanks for looking.
