That is such a nice model. Kudos to you for choosing a different theme. How about exploding it in half and showing a submarine in the distance? That would be a nice diorama...

Pit Road actually did a submarine kit like that way back when.
That Liberty ship is looking great Dave! I think I have one in my stash too; gotta pull it out and work on it.

A piece of 320 wet or dry sandpaper and some swirling wet sanding on a flat counter might have given Her an interesting loaded profile. 
I believe the chicoms scaled up to 1/350 on the Liberty ship model kit, with similar sins. Trumpeter is like a box of choc-o-lates. You never know what you're gonna get.
I await Hagesawa's scaled-down 1/700 Casablanca class CVE.

I've been pestering Hasegawa-San ever since they released their amazing 1/350 Gambier Bay. (Where's that Don Quixote emoji?) 
Perhaps Tamiya has a say in another waterline 1/700 CVE. Way back when Brandon Lowe still owned Freetime Hobbies, I planted this same bug in his ear too.

Ah, got you Rhino! I would gladly add my voice to that endeavor.
I have made some progress between working on the new deck and getting the bike dusted off. Though I wasted a considerable amount of time looking for a itty bitty funnel that got tweezer pulted off into never never land. I'm afraid it is gone. I am very stingy with the floor monster and it irks me when it wins a battle. Yes I tried the stocking over the vacuum and everything. Thing is I never heard the thing land so I have no idea what direction it went. Oh well.
I have re-puttied and sprayed the hull color on everything and painted the first coat of the deck color. I'll give it a second coat and then touch up all the light gray before gluing the sub assemblies on. Then it is on to all the tiny bits and pieces of which there are a lot.

Work continues but progress is slow with all the little bits and bobs. My exciting news though is that my tiny funnel that got tweezer pulted reappeared. 
It was sitting right on my work bench off to one side. Best I can figure is I have an old toothbrush sitting in a cup that I hardly use but pulled it out today to scrub something. Could it have been tweezer pulted into the bristle and fell out while I was using it. blink
