    4 Years is a long time !

My little boy had his fourth birthday in April... About 2 weeks ago I opened my first box in 4 years... Not hard to figure out why I haven't built in such a long time... My first attempt will be a Italeri Stug IV... The skills are a bit rusty but it's good to be at it again. Hopefully it will...

Strictly Speaking Not A New Member...

Greetings To All, Wow, says my last visit was over 5 months ago & I think that was only a quick visit. The boxes of unbuilt armour & the many partally built kits have started calling my name again. It is with these voices in my head that I hope to get back into this hobby of mine. Strange the...

At the time I wasn't in the market for shoes so had to go around to shoe stores and try & explain what I wanted also have you ever seen the look on a shoe shop person when you tell them you want to make a tarpaulin for...

    Phil's Build

It's funny how life seems to throw things at us that take us away from the things we enjoy. I haven't touched anything plastic or glue like for quite some time. It is my hope that I can get back to building soon. A question if anybody reads this... When does this g/b finish. Regards, Phil

    Phil's Build

For those that have asked here are a few pics of my most recent attempt at creating a tarp for a soft skin vehicle. The painting & weathering was done real quick just to get an idea. For me this is by far the most realistic result. It was done by using the tissue like paper that comes with...

Laura, :pinch: Steel Tips !!! OUCH ! As long as they are not what I know as 'winkle pickers'. (Boots that end in a rather nasty sharp point... But they are good for getting critters that hide in the corner !)

    Phil's Build

Progress on this build stalled about two weeks ago  I got on a roll with my Panzersphawagen and my time has been spent on that. But that is what I like about this site, just a comment or question from someone is like a size 13 army boot to the butt... ( Not suggesting that either...

    Chips N Scratches

jenny croft wrote: Jenny, Thanks for that. I have previously applied Vallejo Panzer Grey and it looked ok, but not quite right if you know what I mean. I shall add the Black Brown & see what differece it makes. Regards, Phil

    Chips N Scratches

This may be a real basic question, but what are the best colors to use when adding chips & scratches to a vehicle that is panzer grey ? I have always avoided the complete grey color schemes but have decided to give one a try. Regards, Phil

Cheyenne wrote: Glen the kit is superb in my opinion. It is just time consuming cleaning and constructing the running gear. I think I may need to have my big boofy fingers surgically replaced with dainty girly ones to make it easier to put together all the tiny pieces. Phil

I have uploaded a photo to the gallery on my profile. If I want to display the photo in a forum what link do I copy & paste ? Apologies if this has been explained elsewhere.

    Phil's Build

Just a couple of progress shots. Oh that running gear ! A joyous way to spend a rainy weekend ! The SBS suggested by Laura has been an invaluable help with this build so far. Ant... The cig foil idea sounds interesting. I will have to find a smoker to donate some so I can give it a try.

    Phil's Build

Noel, I think with some effort spent wetting down the paper with a soft brush would fix the sharp edge problem. Just a few barrels... Can't go any where in the scorching desert with out them ! :)

    Phil's Build

This is just a pic of minor progress so far. I put together a jig so that I could get the frame of the soft skin cover all straight. The wooden slats for the sides will be next & I must practice making the tarp that goes over the top. Any suggestions would be most welcome. I am thinking that...
