Task Force Canada HMMWV - Afghanistan 2002

By as early as December 2001, Canada had deployed JTF2 to Afghanistan. By April they had the M1114 in theatre to assist with operations. After seeing one image of a Canadian operated M1114 I was inspired to try and recreate that scene. Tamiya had just released it's M1025. While not exactly what...

    Tamiya F4U-2 Corsair

Well if you go OOB it won't take long MP. There isnt much to this one. I think I built this in maybe four or five days? The flaps took a little care to line up but the rest was a cake walk. matt

Mk. IX Spitfire - 411 Squadron RCAF - Polly

Continuing on with sharing my old builds. Here is one one of my favorites. Hasegawa's fantastic 1/48 Mk IX Spitfire that I converted to an e wing. A few extra bits here and there. Elevators dropped. My mother is a very talented artist and I asked her to apply some markings by hand. She added the...

    Tamiya F4U-2 Corsair

The kit is the wonderful 1/48 scale edition. The paint chips were applied with a fine brush one by one. Good ol Testors silver. I just love the look and consistency for hand brushing. Thanks everybody! And yes I did forget to fill in the step in the starboard wind. matt

Tamiya Challenger II - Operation Telic, Basra 2003

Thanks all! @Ron - The heavy chipping on the real vehicle in my references is what inspired the build. As you say it isn't too common in this era. It was time consuming, but fun. matt

Tamiya Challenger II - Operation Telic, Basra 2003

Not sure if this qualifies as a diorama. It`s just a simple street scene. Anyway. Here is my Chally II with some simple mods and Verlinden figures. Its probably hard to see but most of the upper surfaces are covered in paint chips. All applied by hand, one by one. My references showed...

    My First Two Gundams

Hope this is the right place in the forum for these two kits. These were the first (and to date only) models I`ve started and finished since moving almost three years ago. Man that`s sad. The first is 1/100 scale Gundam called Force Impulse. He was built for my girlfriend. Only minor details...

    Fat Cat - Tamiya P-47D

Hello all. Finished this model earlier this year for a local IPMS contest (IPMS Winnipeg). Prior to that it sat nearly complete for about two years. I seem to have been in a bit of a modeling funk since I moved. I'm very slowly getting my mojo back though. Tamiya 1/48 kit with some Eduard...

    Macross YF-19

Very cool. Can't believe how detailed that kit is. So many great anime related kits out there. I still wanna build a Tachikoma (GITS) and Spike Spiegel's Swordfish II. And a Gundam. Cause ya just have to have at least one. Keep us posted Matt :)
