My next mission. This bad boy going to take awhile. Only 619 parts. A buddy here at home went halves. He has been diagnosed with a treatable cancer. Will be going in for stem cell replacement. I wasn't going to build it til next year, but I want to finish it and display it at his office when he gets home. I think I've got til January. I'm flying lots after 10th so want to get a good start next week. Will be nightfighter version.

Only thing I have read on this is that it takes a LOT of paint.
Be sure to post in process photos so we can follow along.

Go figure. Last page of instructions. Since doing Nightfighter version, antennas go into wings for radar, BUT WEREN'T included in the damn kit. For this size and price, it should have come with a power cart to start it. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Have a reach around figured out for it. Will use Evergreen poly styrene rods.

Oh my this is coming together quickly!

Umm, you might check step #253 again. The box in the upper left shows the ariels in the center of the wing angling to the back at 45° angles instead of standing straight up. The ones at the tips are straight up, and I don't think there are any angled ariels in the center of the left wing.

I still can't believe the antennas weren't included with the kit. The price I paid for it, should come with it's own damn starter cart.

I would suggest popping them loose then make some plastic plugs to put in the holes. Make a starter divot for the new hole and then drill the 45° angle. If you just bend them there will be a curve at the base instead of the clean angle in. The trick is to have the shallow divot hole for a starter then you can drill whatever angle and the drill won't wander.

If we're still in WIP phase on those antenna might want to use some thinner rod, those look a bit thick from here.

Hope you don't mind the critiques, it is how this group works. We try to help and guide each other to better builds and better skills. Sometimes we are our own worst critics on our own builds. Attaboys for good work and constructive critiques when we see something wonky. After all the devil is always in the details. Again, hope you didn't mind.

Absolutely not at all. All good. I appreciate the insight. I'm a relative newcomer, so any tips I appreciate.

Wow, and you are on a fast roll! This kit is mighty big indeed. I know your buddy will appreciate this.
