Gecko Models Matilda Mk I

Finally we have a plastic version of the Matilda Mk I brought to us by Gecko Models. I have a resin version which had lots of problems that should not have passed QA. I also have a file to print one and now a plastic version to try and build.

Looking forward to building this even if its in my dreams. Lots of tiny parts for a tiny tank. Construction looks straight forward.

If you have access to FacePlant, @jknaus, Stephen Tegner has some excellent files as well as some critique for this kit.

Examples: "Funnily enough the biggest eyesore for me is the mg housing. I'll replace that if and when I get one. The tracks are ok but I'll replace those as well."

"It should look like this and given the angles I can't see why they couldn't have made it correctly?"

Thanks Saul. I'm sure someone will have a correction pretty quick. Does seem odd they let it down like this.

Stephen Tegner is a super nice guy. Perhaps ask for the file he used to create the corrected look? You have me at a disadvantage since you have the printers needed.

Hi, yes the kit isn't bad really, just some things that could have been better. I didn't have a hand it it's design but I'll look forward to getting one eventually. I've been designing it in 3D for a few years now. I'll probably release the engine compartment once I have the kit and can test fit it to see.

Steve

WOW! That is a lot of detailed work! What program have you been developing that in?
