I will show two boxes and sprue tree frames but probably build only one...

Well, it is only drilling out things and checking fit (OK, added PE screens too) but it is a start!

Opened the smaller vent.

Opened the blast tube.

Drilled out the spinner hub. However, I didn't carve the Huck's starter shape.

Drilled out the exhaust pipes.

Added the photo-etched screens.

Test fitting the main parts, not much to this kit at all!

I was not too fond of my exhaust port drilling as the pipes seemed so thin!

Ordered these SBS exhausts from Amazon for $14USD delivered using rewards:

As has been happening to me lately, I then came across this CMK set for only $6.85USD delivered! Yes, I got it as well as I do have two kits:

I forgot to upload my startup photo, it was still on the digital camera!

One exhaust side was broken loose but serviceable.

Next step is adding a little detail to the cockpit. I have these references which were to use on my Accurate Miniatures (now Academy) Yak-1b kit with a rare resin correction set for the upper fuselage. However, the artwork will do for this kit too!

Note that this is for the earlier Yak-1 (no M as it was not modernized).

Yak-1b based on a museum specimen. Note the segmented armored head armor glass.

Reminder Saúl, this is a quick build, not a deep details dive (like I usually do) So get out the glue, paint and basics and sniff some.

This week is VERY busy at the hospital. As I wrote, the 'deep dive' is because I have the three 48th scale Accurate Miniatures kits as well as these 2 in 72nd scale. ;)

Only had 20 minutes tonight before my weary eyes started screwing up the drilling, pin removal, and coolant pipe prep for the cockpit. Measure, but didn't cut, the missing gusset which I decided to add since there is a visibly large gap between the front spar and the other gussets in the landing gear bay.

The only details on the front of said spar are the retraction cylinder mounting points and they need to be further outwards anyway to clear the missing large gusset. Adding a shim to the front of the front spar will close the gaps and is FAR easier than trying to close the gap individually behind each gusset.

Photos will follow with comparisons to the second kit with the parts still on the sprue tree frame. Another long day tomorrow so perhaps only photographs of what I did today.

Yes, I know...
