Mirror Models Recce Car

I got a lot of questions about why Paul. The wheels can be posed. I got to make my own tie rod out of wire. Then I got the steering linkage. There's more custom wire work. Oddly no brake line detail, we'll take care of that.

You would have a field day on this Paul. The interior is minimal, a good clean slate to work with. I'm sealing this one up.

I stuffed up the wheel hubs with some 3mm disk, don't know what thickness the sheet was, thick enough for 2 disk each to do the job.

The rear wheels are a bit bigger than the drums on the axel, I can see misalignment from a build I found on the web. So I found some sprue tub I had in stock and it slipped right over the drum and snugged up the wheel. Now the challenge was to cut two spacers off that tube....:blink

Got to use the Lathe for something worth while. I had the RPM low as it goes but stilll generated too much heat and the sprue warped a but. I did get enough of a spacer off it to make it work. I'll have photos of that later.

I'd hate to ride in this thing. Matt's Offroad Recovery just had a video about how they had to correct the drive shaft harmonics on the Worlds Largest Off Road Wrecker. Really is a lot of potential in this kit but i'll not do another.
 
I know I keep saying this, I'm shocked this is going so well.

I've added some details inside but not much. Probably not going to trick it out more than you see here. More details to be added inside, just going with what's stock.
I gotta hand it to Mirror Models, the kit is really nice. The instructions? Not so much. There's some parts that just appear, steps are pointless. Guess they are not that type of model company. The fit has been great. I dry fitted the roof and everything is square and plumb.
 
I am trying to remember if it was Armorama where Libor (owns Mirror Models and LZ Models) would assemble the kit. The instructions in the kits were photographs taken during the build. Some were on mini-cds.
