IPMS Alexander Lippisch FLEACON 21. 12 April 2025 Monticello IA.

You know how I'm funny about what words mean, and saying things I really mean out loud or keeping my mouth shut when I'm angry?
Yeah.

A great many of the Fartin' Fleas are old, good friends of mine. I know everyone has a bad day, but the Revell USS Iowa model had her crane in a stern 40mm gun tub, and a 40 quad where the crane mounts on the stern. HUGE basic construction foul! Her main deck was silver. Finish mistake? Bronze award? Buffalo Biscuits! After 21 years of shows, it's time my old friends 1-Uped their contest game.

These things being said, it was a M-O-D-E-L C-O-N-T-E-S-T, not a matter of life & death. No Federal laws were broken. Alferd Packer din't eat one Dimicrat. No Ambulance ever did show up.

OH! And I continue to "Fart and Flee" even here at home. :stinker::lol:

Regarding the B17
Those slots on the trailing side of the wings were not exhaust ports. They were waste air ports from the superchargers. Any air that the supercharger couldn't suck in would go out those ports. Meaning, it was nothing but clean air, if you have smoke coming out of those ports you had bigger problems.
Simple image search for B17 will show this. There are diagrams also. That's become a pet peeve of mine.

Ja, too much Hollywood. Not enough research. Notice the giant, glaring gaps at the wing roots?
This expensive, model was awarded a gold.

I get it big, does NOT mean it is better. This kit was designed so that the wings could be disconnected and removed. I get it, but if you are going to do that, you better get ready to do a lot of work to make just a fine join line where they go together.
