Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well!

Again my appologies for being absent from the forum for so long. New job, moving cities, tremendously more work and responsibilities and unfortunately very little time for modelling.

However, I could not miss the MMM 24, this is always my favorite campaign. For this one I am presenting you a small little gem, a version of the MD-500 Defender used by the Israeli Air Force in Lebanon in 1982 (the Night Fox). Kit is an old Italeri 1/72 built this time OOB. I hope you enjoy it.

After a very extensive and tiring selection process I was unanimously selected as the new chairman of the departments of pediatric surgery and orthopedics and Professor of pediatric surgery at the University of Regensburg, in Bavaria. It is a huge responsibility and a very well-known clinic, including pediatric transplantation and foetal surgery. I am looking forward to being officially "The Boss"!

So very glad to see you Dr. Alex!!! Congratulations on the new job, I know you well deserved it and will do much good!

I recently found and watched a movie called "Something the Lord Made". A dramatization of the relationship between heart surgery pioneers Alfred Blalock and Vivien Thomas. I just knew that this was something that you deal with and thought about you while watching it.

Doing a helicopter? Oh my, what a tiny little bug it is. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

If it was deserved or not I do not know, but it was hell necessary - I was demoted here in Ulm with no reason (at least none was told me) in exchange for a chap way less qualified than me and who has proven to be a complete A...hole (sorry Bob). That meant a pay cut and a constant, daily humiliation. But, as the Fates wanted, I got this amazing invitation and this fantastic new job fell into my lap. So I guess there is somebody up there looking out for us (feel free to think on whomever you like).
Since I am going to be living alone during the week until at least September (and commuting weekends), I will probably have more time to modell and to be here in the forum with you my friends.

Fantastic news on the new job. It sounds awesome despite the extra responsibility. As I have heard many time, when one door closes another opens, and yes that does seem to be true. i'm glad you were able to leave a crappy spot and get something much better.
The Defender looks awesome. i still dont know how you guys can work on something so small. Very nice work.

So glad you are in a lot better place Alex. Yeah the living away from loved ones is a pain, but this is temporary and then it should be a lot better.

I get it Alex, we had another watchmaker where I work that being in the same room with him was like working under a black cloud. If I had not been close to retirement and finally settled into a house that I was able to buy before the interest rates went up I would have been gone. He finally got a job up in Long Island, New York. He wasn't happy working at my store and pretty much made everyone else around him miserable. We ended up with a new guy that has a MUCH better attitude and life is a lot better.
If he hated it where we are I really doubt that he will be happier up in Long Island. I almost wish I could find out how he is doing, kind of like watching a train wreck.

That is quite right. Some people just carry a bad vibe with them. Not much the case on the chap I was mentioned, the thing is that after 5 years of being in charge of the whole department I get a phone call on 03/31 last year saying "we're sorry but you are out of luck, a new boss is beginning in 2 weeks time". No explanation, nothing. Mind you I am a Professor here in Germany, got a PhD in the USA after 6 long years of hard work and suddenly I am passed over for some guy that had absolutely no academic credentials?
Well, I got the invite and left. INterestingly, all 5 residents of the department and even my secretary left with me, not to mention 22 families who will drive much further to have their children cared for by me in Regensburg.
I guess now he will have to start working a bit.
I am happy that you got rid of your pest problem Paul. Life is too short to be worried about this kind of people.
