2017....a Modeler's resolution!

We can make this a sticky and hold y'a to it Warren. :bat

I double-dog dare you!

Meanwhile, I'll resolve myself to finish my Space Shuttle with Boosters, my C-118, my B-377, my Great Western, and four cars next year.

Sticky that man! :coolio :fencing

Go for it Bob!

I probably won't get all of them done but I want to try and make a good dent in them!!

:drinks

Right there with you Sharkman! Maybe we can start a dual thread posting our work together to keep ourselves motivated to 'Git 'r done'! It would have to be in the General Modeling Forum since I have aircraft, armor and some ships on my list of models to complete next year.

Come on people! Who else has a Modeling resolution to make?

If you want to get in on it with me Mark, go for it! I would welcome the company!

Let's see... On the shelf of shame...

1/32 Revell Ju 88
1/72 Revell Flower class corvette
1/72 Airfix Lancaster
1/72 Hasegawa Lancaster
1/72 Dragon Ar 234 W/Julia
1/32 Hasegawa Zero (rebuild)
1/72 Revell Skua

and I've started that Special Hobby Piaggio P.108 too

It's on Warren! :fencing Race you to the finish. :soldier ;) :D

BTW - Don't you have some FM kits that you started too.

1/72 Hasegawa Jake for CTA III
1/72 Hasegawa fw 190 project (Japanese floater)
1/48 Airfix Boulton-Paul Defiant

Okay, come the first of the year, I'll start a New Year's Resolution Thread where I'll post pictures of my Shelf Queens that I intend to finish next year. Anyone wishing to join me in completing their resolution for the New Year can also post pics of their projects in their current state. As we make progress, we'll continue to post in that thread until they are done. Then we can make a New Year's Resolutions Completed Thread to post all the ones we finish.

Deal?

Looks like we might need a campaign ribbon for this. Gary

Sounds like we need a SoD GB.....or 3. :tomato

My resolution is to make no resolution aside from continuing to enjoy my re-entry into the hobby.

Although I wouldn't be heartbroken to get the F-8 finished up. ;)

Excellent Bob! I'm even thinking of running it similar to a campaign, calling it the Modeling Resolution Support Thread or something like that. Instead of posting a start pic with time and date; everyone who participates would simply post pics of the models they want to finish in 2017 in their current state as they are now. That way it wouldn't be a campaign per se; but it would give everyone the chance to post in one place so they can all be supported and encouraged by everyone else's progress. Afterward, we can find a place for the Completed Modeling Resolutions Thread.

Just some ideas I had.....

I don't have any shelf queens, but I have a hangar queen UH-60 with a serious case of hangar rash.
At least I won 1st place with it before SWMBO accidently shifted it around in its plastic case while carrying it upstairs.

Now it looks like its been through maintenance.

Tim

Wow, that is worthy of being brought back up to 'operational' standards. Good luck on that. I hope to see it next year.

This coming year, I've decided I'm going to make an effort to clean up and finish some of the kits I've started and never completed.

1/32 Bell 206 Jet Ranger

You have a 1/32 Jet Ranger???
Wanna sell it???

Tim

Sorry, no! I'm planning to do it up as the Norweigian bird from "The Thing". Never finished it yet though.

It's the old IMC kit

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/157774-imc-402-bell-jetranger

I think Revell might have taken over the molds for this kit.

Wow, never expected this kind of response! Seems to be a popular topic!

I don't think we really need a ribbon for this, but I like Mark's idea of some sort of ongoing thread where anyone can post a shelf queen finish if they like.

Most of mine that I want to tackle already have threads started in Wessendorf Field, they've just been languishing out in the back country!!

I am FINALLY going to quit getting side-tracked and build the Tamiya JS-2 with lots-a details, circa Berlin 1945

Kinda like this

I've got plenty (too many) that are just sitting around half built :bang head I could probably spend the whole year finishing them (and probably should). I would be up for a mutual support thread to try and finish as many of them as I could. Most, I just simply lost interest in as something else came along, and for no other good reason and have just never gotten back to them. Then of course if I finish them all, does that mean I have to start a SOD all over again???? Oh my.... :hmmm

I have some that need to be finished too.

:facepalm
