Not sure what got me thinking about this, but I have this turning in my head now, please help!

In the 1980's (maybe earlier) there was a US Navy Carrier based aircraft that was used moetly for photo recon. I cannot remember the name of it, but only 1-2 were carried per ship, and it was very sleek and fast. I know it was not an S3 Viking, darned if I can remember it...y'all got any ideas???

A Skywarrior aka Whale? I thnk it was a bomber most of its career. In the 80s didnt the F-14 TARPS do most of the recce?

Again, very sleek, almost a dart-like appearance. Likely used in the 70's too. I remember seeing pics of them on carriers at that time

man, I cannot remember! I am working 'till 2am tonight, I am going to have to get out Norman Polmar's book from the late 80's on US Naval power when I get home, just was trying to figger it out before then

Was it the A-5 Vigilant?https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_A-5_Vigilante
