Torpedo campaign

There is a cut away of the David ...... But I really like the Hunley ...I may have to do a joe for the cut away ......Netflix is calling Me ... :captain .. I may build the David Next ...... :eek:ldguy

Oh yes, a Kate (?). Is that the old Bandai/Otaki boxing, Ming ??

I'm still firmly comitted to building my Italeri SM79. In the box it looks like one of Italeri's very best kits. Like the B-25 we've been talking about elsewhere it isn't a type that I've built before and that is really a huge part of the appeal.

Ok MP since your the ex-spurt on the C.S.S. H.L. Hunley ...... the verlinden kit sounds like the better kit 1:32 54mm .... your leaning towards the cottage kit in your replies ...... just the cottage kit sounds solid resin & the verlinden kit sounds kind hollow ..... and more adapt to doing a cut-away version ..... :eek:ldguy

Gerry I haven't seen any of the kits and not even sure who all has them so I can't say one good one bad. I'm more of an enthusiast of the story of the H.L Hunley and follower of it's history. BTW, it was never a commissioned ship so C.S.S. would not be needed in it's name. It was in fact a private venture to prove it could be done. If they had made it back that night, they would have proved it.

I'll be glad to take some pictures of the kit I have, remember this is a kit based on information before it was raised.

The H.L. Hunley.

I think I bought this kit back in 95, before I even got back into building again.

Parts are missing, all the metal stuff are gone. When I attempted to start this thing, I was WAY over my head. Could probably do it now. I would highly recommend one of the current kits, I saw on the Cottage Industries website this kit is still for sell.

I have both in my warehouse ..... and squadron probably has it also I'll check it ....... the verlinden kit is bigger I think ...... :eek:ldguy

I like piets kit I think it might be it it looks like it is possible to use it as a cutaway version of this submarine I'll have to wait till I get to work to peruse further ....... Dang itty-bitty Smartphone ....... :eek:ldguy

Further to that I kind of like the one Piet showed. Should be easy and there is room for some extra detail although this is a real basic boat.
