But more to the truth of Thanksgiving, they were thankful that they SURVIVED leaving Europe. The tradition of a Thanksgiving feast actually predates the Pilgrims and originated in Europe. I'm just glad it's a FEAST and not a FAST.

Ron: I had a professor at Ohio University who was from Germany, he celebrated VE day as his Thanksgiving day... He was 11 when the war was over and had just been conscripted to fight...

Can imagine he had his reasons to celebrate for sure,Barney!
Kid soldiers,...in some parts of the world it unfortunately still does excist.
