Sometimes I just want to give up. I went overboard on the dry brushing. I suck using pigments. So I thought I would go back to dry brushing. There is still a bit of a shine I can't get rid of. I think the real cold weather has something to do with that.

Keep working it Chad :soldier

Does it look like that in real light? If not maybe just dull coat it to blend everything together. If it looks like that as you look at it, then maybe a wash with thinned oil paint? I used a dab of burnt umber and a couple of ounces of odourless thinner and a large soft brush to coat my Stug. Then dabbed with an old white tee shirt to soak up excess. Let it dry overnight and everything melded together. Hope that helps. (PS Bob Letterman did a sbs on this that might explain it better here https://www.modelersalliance.com/forum/weathering-olive-drab )

In regular light,it does not look that way. I started using Vallejo flat acrylic coat. I think the extreme cold is working against me in that regard.
