This Brings Me up to 632 Finished Armor Models

And here is the parade of my latest completed models.

I'll start with the little ACE 1/72 scale Iraqi M-3 APC that was done for a Group Build on the Missing Lynx Braille Scale Forums:

Next up, another ACE model in 1/72 scale, the British Tilly:

Oops, the little stop indicator fell off. Gotta get that fixed.

Followed by an ancient model I started when I was ten and put aside because I'd lost the decals. Lo and behold, I found the original decals; applied a decal film to them and pulled this model out to apply them to it.

I can now declare this thing done after forty years:

I'll be looking for a .50 cal to add to that ring later.

And finally, this last one is the Fujimi 1/72 scale Early Tiger I. I did this up in the markings of Whittmann's tank that he used at Kursk:

And there they are, my most recent finished armor models. Now to get some more completed.

Thanks all for looking in, comments are welcome.

Thanks MP and Dave! I appreciate the replies very much!

Thanks Phil. About two years ago in March, we did take an overall shot of my whole armor collection. That was when it was only 545 models and they covered four tables. Here is a couple pics of that day:

Once I get up above 700 completed armor models, I'll have a go at taking another overall shot of everything all together. By then, this pic will include two (maybe four) armored trains and the Dora railgun. I'll probably need six tables then!

Sixty-eight models left to go!

Thanks Warren! I'd love to do the same with my aircraft, but that is a lot easier said than done! I have almost 400 aircraft completed, about 60 or so are too big to sit on shelves and so they hang from my ceiling. Just to give you an idea, here's the four corners of my Hobby Room ceiling:

Yeah, I'd need about 24 tables; not four, to hold my whole aircraft collection. I may be able to get my Navy on six tables though....

Now you see my dilemma....

Thanks again for the great reply. Wait another year or so and I'll have another huge group shot of my armor when it reaches 700 completed models.

That's a massive amount of plastic there. Talk about a traffic controllers nightmare :rotf

Duke:

Those are all some fantastic looking armor pieces. You are just a building machine. I remember seeing that group photo that you showed. Have you ever tried doing any armor from WWI? I know there are a few types in 1/72 scale from the great war. I know I've seen some Model T style truck transports as well. You might want to check them out as well. Great work my friend.

Dave

Thanks Dave!

Yes, I have done some 1/72 scale WWI vehicles. No tanks; but I did one truck, one ambulance, one armored car and one scout car:

All of those are from RPM Models. I built most of them several years ago; they were included in that huge Group Pic. I want to get more of their MACK trucks to go with that tanker truck.

Thanks again for the great reply!

:notworthy !!!!

That's an impressive collection there Duke!!

I do remember the aircraft hanging from your ceiling, one in particular I think you said was right above your head at the bench - which I thought that one would hurt if it came down on top of you!!!

And one time....it did! :blink :pinch:

Thanks for the great reply Phil!

I would love to John, but that's 68 models away now and three months have already passed. I usually complete 45 +/- a year, and with Dora under construction that number is smaller. Still, I think I'll try and see how close I get by December. This is gonna rock!

Thanks for the great reply John, always a pleasure and an honor to see you post on my Threads.

Ouch!!! I think I would be buying a nice steel Army helmet to counter that !!!!

puts a whole new meaning to ''being dive bombed!''

So if I hear about a man in the States impaled by falling model.........!!!!
