Looking good Ian,

On larger tires, I have always used Milliput epoxy putty to widen the tires at the bottom, Shape the Milliput like a flat tire at the bottom would look, then smooth it with a brush wet with water until it blends with the plastic and you can see no seperation between the putty and the plastic. After drying, hold the tire to a belt sander and grind it to where you want it to be. The only photo I have to illustrate how it turns out is this one. The second tire from the front. Both front tires are actually flat but you can only see the one. I see no reason this wouldn't work on a large aircraft tire, just don't flatten it much.

Hope that helps.

Bob

(y) Thanks Bob. Sorry about the long delay in relying - been pretty busy with the painting business. I try what you have suggested.

Ian.

:notworthy
Luiz, Mike, John and Terry, thank you again for your encouragement. :)

James, not my fault...I would have a look though if I were you. Great Kit.

MP - i think your right about the punch mark. I won't bother if the instrument panel covers it. :good:
Ian.

Ok, a little more progress made on the wings. I have taped the body together to show what it will look like. Wing flaps are not finished and blue tacked in place. Engine still needs to be attached. I have added some wires to the wheel well that are hanging down. Right side will be without a wheel and the strut angle is set back a little.

You can see here that the firewalls for the engine bays will need further work where they meet the wings - small gaps there.

I have cut out a section of the 'underwing' surface and have added some framing inside. This will also get some hanging wires. Surrounding edges still need a cleanup.

Back again with more as soon as i do some more ;) I will finish-off the cockpit next (I hate doing cockpits).

1/32 BF 110 C-7 - some progress 26th May

 Hi everyone.
A little bit of progress but only on filler and torn wing canvas - not very exciting (sorry).
Still a lot of cleanup, filling & trimming (I spelt this wrong in the screen notes, i know :smack )
The torn tissue paper comes up well once it is trimmed properly and sanded lighly on the wing tops. I also add a touch of modelling paste .
I will just keep plugging away in between paintings.

Back as soon as I can clean-up and paint the cockpit.

Ian.

This is really coming along nicely Ian! I really like that you are building to a photo for the diorama, gives a sense of history. (y)

BTW I am starting to hate building cockpits as well.

:) Thanks everyone for the feedback. This will get there it's just a lot slower than I initially bargained for.
HE - cockpits.....my arch enemy!

I have had my time sapped since April on getting some new military art finished for a big show in early June, so once that is done I will have a little more time.
If you are interested, 'pop' over to my paintings blog and you can see some progress on those.

Latest update.......
more work on the cockpit. Done about 85% of the paint with some details still to add like small wires on the canopy and junk on the floor. The seatbelts are still being completed and need some final touches.
