you guys might see some more of this stuff from me this week end...

This is just nuts, hope I never have to go to whatever this airport is.

The title is mislabeled, that pilot is not crazy, he's dang good!

This is Tegucigalpa, Honduras airport...just checked, yes the company I work for has sites there. :blink

History channel has a show that I've seen, 10 Most Extreme Airports IIRC. I watched it in full once but have seen it being replayed other times.

Pretty sure this was one of the top three? There were some really crazy ones though, places I know I will never visit. At least by plane.

hong Kong wasn't easy either, nor was the one in Peru. Lots of tight sphincters on those flights, enough to cut 5 penny nails.

Regards,

I enjoy the cross wind landings ,..where the plane comes in sideways I have great admiration for those pilots,

any pilot really that gets me from A to B without the use of a parachute

:idonno Just looks like a carrier landing to me. I came into DFW like that once. Very cool!!

Not youTube but nice nonetheless (even though it shows you where I go for videos):

Well the thing is, the video isn't about the cross winds, which is pretty common stuff no? This video is really showing you the dangerous approach and the landing on one of the shortest runways in the world.

Toncontín International Airport

The airport received much notoriety as being one of the most dangerous in the world due to its proximity to mountainous terrain, its short runway, and its historically difficult approach to runway 02.

Until May 2009 the runway was only 6,112 f. In 2007 the approach to runway 02 was made significantly easier by work which systematically bulldozed a large portion of the hillside. May 2009, the southern end of the runway received a 984 ft extension, lengthening it to 7,096 ft. Even with its recent runway extension, Toncontín has one of the shortest international runways in the world.

;)

there's another video, I think it's a 747 or some other Jumbo landing on a short runway. Or maybe it was a take off...can't remember...trying to get more java in me for this all nighter.
