In February 1942, a group of 9 Polish pilots took service in the 112 sqn RAF as a complement to the losses. "Polish" episode in the history of 112 sqn RAF ended in September when the last of the nine was transferred to the Polish fighter squadron in the British Isles. During the service in the ranks of 112 sq. RAF Poles made 140 combat flights, 2 pilots died, 2 wounded, three recovered victory in a duel (1 shot down, 2 damage), dozens of destroyed equipment on the ground.
I plan to make a model of the aircraft on which Sergeant Zbigniew Urbańczyk on March 14, 1942 as a wingman of famous ace and commander of 112 Sqn S / Ldr Clive Caldwell shot down MC.202 (according to other sources it was Bf-109). The only problem I have is the lack of consistency in historical data - according to sources he made it on the GA-D (AK957) or GA - ??? (AK913).
Sergeant Zbigniew Urbańczyk in P-40E (Kittyhawk Mk.I)
Sergeant Zbigniew Urbańczyk in front of (probably) GA-V
Sergeant Zbigniew Urbańczyk first from the left (on the right second polish pilot - Sergeant Jerzy Różański)
