Vallejo Metal Colors

I have a small bottle of the Chrome but not sure this is the same stuff. It's ok, not like some of the other metal coats.

I love Vallejo, but their metals are my least favorite. The pigment drops out of solution very quickly, so constant attention has to be paid while spraying large areas. They are also unforgiving in terms or viscosity and tip dry.

Some can be buffed, but nowhere near the quality of Alclad. Their Chrome is a joke, it's just a lighter aluminum, but no way is it even close in terms of sheen.

As Kenny mentioned, this is new, so I'm up for giving them a try. I hate shooting laquer, so I tend to stay away from Alclad, but if these are even slightly comparable, I'd be happy to gice a NMF a try.

So who's getting it first? :popcorn

I see they're in stock at MMD, so I think I'll be jumping in.

There's a crapload of colors: Duraluminum, jet exhaust, exhaust manifold, dull aluminum, magnesium, etc. Looks like they're going after Alclad. The gloss black primer is polyurethane. The stuff is pricey, but is marketed very specifically, which gives me hope that it may be accurate.

I guess it's time to place an order.

Metal Colors demo

I'm loving the use of the Sabre engine for the testing...that one was a nice test bed for these things...
