UMM Hobbies

phantom II

Master at Arms
Several weeks ago I ordered an airplane jig from UMM . It arrived in a couple of days but unfortunately it was the wrong size.

I promptly returned it where it was cheerfully replaced and sent back out.

In the bottom of the bag, I discovered two pairs of non magnetic tweezers.

Thank you John for your generosity (y) Cheers, Christian B)

Nice, I really enjoyed meeting John in Atlanta all those years ago at the AMPS show.

The thing about those bi-wing jigs is it doesn't support the nose.

Belive it or not,I have wondered about that. Guess I'll know more when I get it together .

Ps, He'll be at the Ipms show.

Yeah I have one but found it useless for my needs because no nose support. What they should do is use the 4 point jig with an option for the bi plane config.

Their scribing tools look slick. I may try one of those. I picked up a needle scriber from the LHS, but to be honest I wasn't that impressed. I ended up doing most of the scribing on the eggplane with the backside of an x-acto blade.

Thoise look good Chris.
As for the nose, all uses I have seen have the user put rubber bands or pipe cleaners around the tail and hold onto the tail support.

I rather like trumpeter scribe myself . Not too pricey and fits in my hand comfortably :good: Other than that it scribes about like an Xacto knife
