After considerable time collecting dust, I finally got a chance to slop some paint. Not very pretty, but good enough for me. If you stand back far enough it actually looks presentable.
Gonna let this dry for a day or two then seal it.

For some odd reason my flat coat ran a little to the shiny side so I gave it a shot of Minwax Polycrylic Ultra Flat wood finish. Worked a treat! Very much like the old days spraying Future for a gloss coat.
