Markings are for Hurricane Mk.I P3873 YO-H flown by No. 1 (RCAF) Squadron during the Battle of Britain. F/O Hartland de Montarville Molson was shot down 05 Oct 1940 in this aicraft, bailing out safely. In 62 operational missions he had one confirmed kill, a He111 on 11 Sep.

He was returned to Canada after recovering from wounds received when he was shot down. He commanded 118 & 126 Sqdns on Home Defence duties, No. 8 SFTS and was Director of Personnel AFHQ. He was discharged in Sep 1945 as a Group Captain.

Some will recognize the last name, he is a member of the Molson beer family ( :drinks ) and with his brother purchased the Montreal Canadiens in 1957. He has his name on the Stanley Cup 6 times as owner and is in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

He was a appointed to the Canadian Senate in 1955, retiring in 1933 at age 86. He passed away in Sep 2002.

Cheers,
Rich

I was able to get photo's of the 2014 and 2012 offerings, only because the local airshow is every 2yrs. Hopefully, I'll be able to travel this year to photograph this beautiful bird again.

Cool paint job! Love the retro look. (y) (y)

Hopefully I can make it to the Abbotsford show this year. It's been awhile since I made it there.

Dose planez are quite purdy!! Thanks for posting the photos!

Wonder if anyone has ever thought about decal sets for the different paint schemes? That would be a nice display!

In past years, Leading Edge Models has produced the decals for the Demo aircraft. They will likely show up on their site in the next few months.

Cheers,
Rich
