There is a lot of truth in what Phantom says.
In the UK Audi dealerships no longer repair, just replace. When i had a light whine from my diff they wanted £3300 to replace it and replacing the whining bearing was not an option. Fortunately for every main dealer there are half a dozen independent dealers that specialize in makes.
As i said earlier Audi, VW, Seat , Porsche, Skoda , Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti, Cupra and even Ducati are all VW's really ;-) so a guy that knows about an Audi Q5 is not going to have a problem with a Porsche Macan or a VW Tiguan
On the whole German cars have the best reliability over here maybe with the exception of Mercedes. Parts can be expensive but its likely you wont need any, i haven't bought a Audi part in an Audi box in my 15 years of ownership. The real let down for me is the drop in quality with each new model.
One of the reason i have kept my S3 for so long is its acknowledged as the last of the quality Audis. I have recently looked at the new S3 model and i wouldn't even consider it now, its basically a base model with a premium price. Its not really Audi fault, they are stuck with a surcharge on every non electric car they produce if that number is over 70% of their total production, this means they have to produce 30% electric and the market will not buy 30% electric so they are building cars they cant sell so they can produce cars they can sell if you se what i mean, Obviously that means the cars they can sell will be either more expensive or cheaper made. Governments are also to blame. Here we pay an annual road tax on a car, If you have a 6 year old Porsche 911 its about £195 a year, if you buy a new one now its £4600 for the first year then £700 a year after. basically trying to stop you buying new petrol cars which will be effectively banned in 4 years time anyway
Strange world. I am quite please that age means i wont have to live in it for too long.
