But are we ready for Hurricane Irene ? Sounds like the real deal even for us New Jersey people who don't see this too often.

They're predicting it to be cat 2 when it nears NY, cat 1 by the time it reaches New England. I've passed stronger winds than that.

Bring it on, we need a good windy day to clear out the dead branches.

:ro:

yeah once it hits land it'll suck a lot of power out of it. Especially hitting DC, it has a way of sucking all energy from anything that comes near it...

I'm just hoping to get some rain here, I fixed both the leaking toilets the other week and the grass over the septic tank is dying now.

Well , I'll be sitting on the beach watchin it all start , ......... when it starts to blow like a cheap date I'll batten down the hatches and hope for the best , ....... pics. to follow .

I remember Hugo blowing in. We had planned on a Guys weekend down in Charleston, Isle of Palms specifically, right where Hugo hit. That Thursday we were sitting in "Starins Club Forrest" talking to Harold the bartender and watching the news about the storm. I had just said, "Screw it, let's go, how bad can it be?" About that time they announced they had closed east bound I26 and made it all west bound to accommodate the evacuation. We went to a Clemson game instead...they lost.

That's the bridge we were suppose to go over to get out on the IOP. it was reported that it was spinning at one point.

Hugo retained a lot of it's power as it moved over the lowcountry and it hit Columbia and Charlotte really hard.

If this thing picks up power, you guys better be careful!

Hey Guys ,

Latest Reports ... It'll come close to V.A. but I don't think it's gonna amount to much .

Here's a Local forecast & these Guys are Pretty Good.
