New on the Forum

ReccePhreak

Beginner
I just posted a comment on SharkMouth's Preview of the KP 1/48 SIAI- Marchetti SF.260 kit.
SharkMouth introduced me to this forum, because of my "interest" in Reconnaissance aircraft but I hadn't posted anything until now.
A little about me: I am 72, retired USAF (24 years), with most of my career working on photo reconnaissance aircraft, which explains my login "name".
My modelling interest is mainly Recce aircraft (All scales/All eras/Most countries), but I also build Thai aircraft (All scales/Military & Civil), as well as 1/35 Thai Armor.
I say "build" because I work on a lot of different kits, but never seem to finish anything. That doesn't bother me, because I am having fun doing it.
I don't know how much more info is usually included (Or "expected") on this New on the Forum posts, so I will currently leave it at what I just posted (for now).

Trying to figure out your registration date Larry, looks like you've been a member for a while, at least one software migration if not two.

Anywho, welcome aboard!

You might be interested in this. Gen Chuck Horner use to frequent the restaurant my family owned, he'd fly his OV10 over to our county airport from Shaw AFB and someone from the airport was always willing to give him a ride to go get supper. I'll try to find that picture and post it.

That's too cool! My ol' Dad went for a ride in a Shaw AFB RF-4C. The tail code was "JO". He said it was an exciting airplane ride.

Welcome aboard. Looking forward to seeing anything you build. Unfortunately i have the same isue as you, build lots and complete none lol.

Welcome Larry! Don't feel bad about unfinished builds, I also have a number of "in process" projects. A number are from recent years, but I also have a handful that go back to the 80's that were stopped for various reasons. Part of my problem is I build slow and super detailed. As I like the larger scales, this usually means a LOT of scratch building and corrective modifications. Sometimes the build wears me down and I have to set it aside for a bit, sometimes it is boredom with it, sometimes it is a problem that I have to ponder for a while.
Post some photos of your builds in process. We all do so and this group is quite friendly and critiques are done to help and mostly are with constructive suggestions. Nothing wrong with learning from someone that has already solved the problem that you are fighting.

I myself am 68 and am a certified watchmaker. Thus I work with extra tiny stuff "all the time" and it is easy for me, but it also has given a lot of experience with tweezers and small parts.

Hope to see you posting more now.

we're supposed to finish them? Why didn't someone tell me?

Welcome! My sister worked on the SR-71 for a few years before she got stupid and was commissioned.
