Takom has announced 3 new kits of the Btitish Chieftain MBT. All are due for late August release. Working tracks, PS, clear vision ports and markings for multiple vehicles. Price is to be in the $70 US range.
Baesd on the final production variant Mk 5, the Chieftain 5/P is the version delivered to Iran in 1976. Follow-on deliveries for the upgraded Shir-1 & Shir-2 were cancelled after the 1979 Revolution
Following a series of incremental improvements to the Mk 5 creating the Mk 6 thru 9, the Chieftain Mk 10 had the Stiilbrew Applique Armour added to the turret front.
The Chieftain Mk 11 was the final version with the searchlight replaced by the Thermal Observation and Gunnery System (TOGS).
