Need help drilling resin submarine for base

I'm looking for tips & suggestions on how to drill the holes to mount a submarine model on a base.

I'm going to build a base so it looks like the sub is sitting on cribbing, but I want to mount the sub on 2 brass rods, both for rigidity and so that I can use the base as a work station while building the model.

I dont know how to go about getting 2-3 holes drilled in the sub so that they are square and straight down the long axis of the hull.

Any suggestions?

This is a center finder. Once you draw a line down the keel's center, this tool (used with a drill press) assures alignment.

Unfortunately I dont have access to a drill press or a milling machine anymore, so the center finder wont for me. I've used one a couple times in the past, and they work great.

Then your only choice is to drill over sized to allow some play. By choosing the proper finial (large enough to cover the over sized hole, you can fill the mounting holes with epoxy cement, mount on the finials, adjust until level and square, then allow to dry.

Regards and good luck,
