The US Army Air Corps first conducted tests to see if this was feasible at the (then) airbase in Columbia, SC. One of the streets in Columbia are lined with Palmetto Trees (the state tree) planted for every member of that raid.

This is the Accurate Miniatures kit so all AM for it fits this one as well.

Regards,

I got the original boxing. Guess it's the same kit and decals, just different box.

From the review

I remember hearing from one reader who pointed out that the openings in the cowling faces were too narrow (30 scale inches) and the real aircraft has a 36 scale inch opening. I made the mistake of asking how he knew and he kindly sent a photo of his son sitting on his shoulders and holding up a yardstick in the cowling face of a B-25. Yep, 36 inches it is. While many won't notice the difference, there are aftermarket cowlings for these Accurate Miniatures B-25s that provide the 36 scale inch cowling face.

Saul was that you and Jr? :rotf

Saw this advertised and the first thing that struck me was the 50 cal mgs , correct me if I'm wrong but I think I read that all defensive arms were removed for weight/fuel reasons for the raid .

There were a bunch of guns on those. One complete gun not including the mount was around 100 lbs. Add things like ammo and the mounts and all other unessential items so you could carry extra fuel. Those men had stones.
