My Little Buddy....

So I have changed yet again my Avatar pic. My little buddy is hurting, I am not sure how much longer God will Bless me with him. EVERY day when i get home, he follows me around, nudging me and meowing, demanding attention, but not yesterday. VERY sick. Wifey took him to the vet, they say that he may have a bleeding ulcer in his stomach! it is just av ery frustrating situation, as you can imagine.

His mom was hit by a car and while his eyes were open, he was not weaned, and while once the size of the palm of my hand, he is now 13 pounds. He may yet pull out of this, and while I know I can't keep him forever, I was really praying that I could have him a bit longer.

Seriously bummed :(

I'm no vet, but bleeding ulcers in humans isn't that bad I thought. I thought its treated by meds, so hopefully your kitty can be treated by meds too!
Animals are part of the family, I don't care what anyone says!!! When they hurt, we hurt!

Seems like cat have a good many digestive issues but they do make meds for that .

We just had an outside cat put to sleep that was about 18 years old .

With proper treatment you could have this one for quite a while .

Cheers, Christian B)

See, there you go. Get her some meds and she'll be sniffin catnip again before you know it!!! Seriously, hope meds fixes the problem and you get your little buddy healthy again!

Hey thanks Guys! he is doing better than hoped. Yesterday he ate for the first time in about two days! Not much, but we'll take it.He did receive some meds but actually, per the vet, we are to half an OTC med for humans called PEPCID and get him to swallow that in order to reduce the amount of stomach acid he has. That will actually be the big challenge, gettig him to swallow it. Assuming he does, he gets another visit in a week, I think.

So there is still hope. Cat really had me scared, as we had to put down our outside cat about a year or so back. Although several years older, it was virtually the same symptoms/issues. God gives us these Blessings for a time, but they are not ours forever. Not out of the woods just yet, but this news is better than the alternative!

You guys will love this….his name is TANKER !!

When we got him 2002, my then 5yr. old stepson thought his coat pattern (which was different then) looked like the Abrams tanks he saw on the news at night, which he thought were cool, and since he got to name him, that was it and it stuck! Little booger actually understand his name and a lot of language, he answers to Tanker, Tank, and Mr. T. He has his claws but is a such a loving and compliant cat that even when scared at the vet he allows the vet to handle him, take blood, and give shots. He was doing well this morning, actually came out and followed me a round a few minutes before going back into hiding, so just hoping he continues to improve! Thanks guys!

I sympathize with you here. We just had to have our cat of 14 years put down today because of cancer. I am glad she is out of pain. I am also glad that in your situation there is good news. Hang in there. :good:

Take good care of that kitty, Bruce!
Paul, Christian- I'm so sorry to hear about your little friends. :(

So sorry to hear about your friend, Paul, it's never easy to say goodbye.

Bruce, hoping yours makes a full recovery.

Paul, Christian, that is indeed heartbreaking. :(

Well Bruce it was time we could tell she was not having any fun .

One of two refugee cats from next door that prefered to take up residence on our front porch .

Eighteen years is a very long life for an outside cat . None of us will get out of here alive .

Hoping for continued improvements .

Cheers, Christian B)
