MODERN RUSSIAN ARMOUR - T-80U in Ukraine 2022 update 28th MARCH 2026

came up okay after that. I'm nowhere near "Broken Eagles" standard LOL
Hey mate, your T-55 is just fine. Its all about what modelling does for you........and if you are like the rest of us here it fills that thing that you can't exactly put your finger on. Some of us are more into the building, some the painting and some both.
All I know is I can't imagine getting up each day and not creating something from an idea and a bit of research - can't live without it and thats all that matters!

This is the Zvezda T-80, the camo is unusual and I think was never used, except for an example of "what can be done".

A little more progress on the chassis and turret.

I added texture on the turret to give it a little more realism tomatch my references add wired - up the smoke candles with lead wire.

Next stepwas to paint the fuel tanks and rubber armour matts on the track guards. I will then coat the aluminium in chipping fluid. Small areas will be exposed but most of it willend up covered by cammo. The black rubber will mostly get painted over but whatever, it was fun painting them with the AK markers to see what effect I would get over the light yellow and brown.

It was then time to finally paint up that engine bay - just a quick job to look the part as the access hatch will be only open about 25%. I also didn't bother filling in the punch release marks on the under side of the hatch because they cannot be seen - just added some dust and grime.
:good: The center seam-line on the exhaust pipes was going to be removed but the real things actually have that line, so I cleaned it up and kept the seam.
