Model display case

With a little break in the action over the past weekend, I cobbled together this wall display case. It is made from all salvaged materials. The glass shelves are from an old wet bar, and the wood is 80 year old redwood siding. The back is a scrap of ¼” ply from another project. Packrat hat trick! Shelf pins are 3/32” music wire. Now the wife can have her shoe storage back.

Some old , some new, and some works in progress

Thanks guys. The salvaged glass shelves kind of dictated the size and shape of the case. The go-ahead base hit was the fact that I have picked up the Tamiya transporters (Dragon wagon, and Famo w/ Sd.Ah. 116) in the past year and have been wondering how I was going to display them. This case will be their eventual home I hope. I have a couple of other model cases in the works. I will post a photo or two when I have them together.

Cheers,

Bill

It looks good, nice and simple. The models look great also, will you put up a piece of glass or plexi glass to keep the dust off?

Thanks guys. DR.J- Full was sort of the idea. Get 'em in one place. I pulled some "oldies" out to populate it. They will go back -in-the-box as new models are completed. ;) RF - No doors on this one. I guess the dust will just add to the weathering. What dust?
