I live in the East Texas area. Does anyone know of model contest\shows around my area?

I don't think mine are good enough to place but I do believe it would be quite fun to go to.

Thanks.

If youre into figures theres a great show called the Lone star figure show for next year

You just missed it, I think they do have it every year.

I was THIS close to going out there for the show last year but figure my doctors would rather get paid first.

Mr T and Dad can tell you all about it.

When I live in West TX. we use to go to the one in Fort Worth and I enjoyed it very much.

Good cross section of all modeling venues and not nearly the hubbub of Eaglequiest .

There is Scalefest coming up ... Then Eagle Quest will be Here before you Know it ... Both are in Grapevine, Tx ... I usually try to make them Both ... Where in East Texas do you Live ??? Cause I live in East Texas also .... :woohoo:

Great stuff guys. I may have to mosey on up to the EagleQuest next year and see what model contests is all about.

Being that I have never done a model contest, would I enter as beginner or intermediate?

Beginner and rack up the awards! :rotf

I enjoy it, I don't take it so seriously that I get disappointed in not placing with something I thought should place.

Well I think that if you go with a joyful heart ... not expecting to win ... then when you do your "Happy ... Happy ... Happy" so beginner is a great place to start ... then next year go for the gusto ... (y)

Just take it and place it where they tell you it belongs unless you qualify for a junior entry .

Do not take it seriously . Especially if you studied the subject closely or you might find the judges annoying unfamiliar with the subject.

I would still recommend Forth Worth (y)
