M1A1 ODS-ish Abrams, Tamiya, 1/35

Here is my take on an Abrams that was used during the original ODS based on these two reference photos I found on the internet-webs. While these are 105mm Abrams I only had a 120mm Abrams kits. So a little creative license here.

The finished build and display base.

Primed here with Mr. Surface 1500 Mahogany

For some unknown reason this time I decided to use the Pre-Shade method instead of my go to Black Basing with marbling.

Then I did something really crazy…I applied a “highlight” that I felt would give the base color a warmer tone…not sure if this will work out

Next up will be the base color and blocking in the detail colors.
