Hi y’all! Here is a tank that I started working on and psting here about a year ago, then when I dropped out o medling for a bit, it just sat, so hope please forgive that the fitst part is done and you are seeing the painted prouct!
Anyway, I was looking at my little shelf of models, and my son asked “Why does that one have YELLOW camo?” I explained it and again found my little type 97, so here it is. This is the early version with hoop antennae and low pressure 57mm gun. Although I would seriously NOT have wanted to be a Japanese tanker in this, as it had a poor performance record, it was a neat little kit, I got the kit on the super-cheap, and being a Tamiya, it just literally fell together. I pretty much built it OOB, but I need to add some pics of the external spring suspension, as the kit part was just too soft on detail. Here are a few pics of where it sits right now:
here is a view of the turret top and I went ahead and added the very strange Japanese type XX machine gun. This gun was intecded for anti-aircraft defense, but the slender item along the top of the gun is a scope!
Here is the most dangerous view!
OK. So here is the error that originally made me set it aside….look at the tracks! Model actually came with two manufactuer’s tracks, so that was OK, but I have them running in two different directions….OOOPS!!!!
Well, last night while I was watching Brock Lesnar get his light’s pounded out, I hid my disappointment in the model and got that track reversed.
So anyhow, this is where she stands right now.
