Thanks for comments one and all. MP after normal painting, I added a drop (mix was about 1/10) of Warbird acrylics sand to my Matt clear and blasted that on the masked off the canvas flight surfaces. Then just attacked with ground up artists pastels.
 
Nice work Geoff . I have always enjoyed the little HS . Not often modeled anymore .
