Hello all!

Saw a link for this site elsewhere, so I figured maybe a new website will help me get back into the swing of things, modelling-wise, once again.

My name is David Bridges, and I'm currently living in Florence, South Carolina. Been building scale models for as long as I can remember, and building armor since I was 16 (I'm 31 next month). I build a little bit of everything as far as armor goes, but I particularly like tank destroyers and self propelled guns.

For the past 3 1/2 years I was working on my graduate degree, so my modeling productivity sort of dropped off severely. I only completed 2 models in that time, and AFV Club Centurion and a DML/New Connection E-100 StuG. I've got about 6 models in progress right now, and I'm trying to get better at figures. More than anything, I really hope to finish up my Kanonen Jagdpanzer in the near future, now that I've got a little more time on my hands.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Happy Modelling!

David

Hi David!

Good looking models! Let me be the first to welcome you aboard!

I think you are going to like it here!

Welcome Dave, fine looking builds you have going.

OK, I'm thinking BBQ in Florance. The only time I think I had BBQ in Florance was back when I was running service calls and we had a weekend job at some massive DEHC office there. BBQ joint down the road but I can't remember the name. Good stuff. BTW, I'm over in Greenwood SC.

Hi David and welcome to T&T. :Hiay

Really like that little Aussie Centurion. (y)

...and what's with all these zany paper panzers these days....

They look awesome and I may have to actually try one of them one day? :eek:hmy:

I just like all the models before paint, you can see what actually went into the build before the paint hides it. :D

Nice Jagdkanone... which update set is that?

Regards,

Hiya David.

You seem to have some awsome mad skills goin on there. And there is never any need to apologise for life coming before your hobby here. All that we ask is that when you do have some time for this hobby, you consider sharing it with us here on T&T. And we will always be willing to share our time with you. And realise that there are some really really cool people here that would not only enjoy your work, but be willing to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! The Kanonen Jagdpanzer has been an off-and-on project since 2005, back when I first got the idea and started to scratchbuild one. Got as far as getting the basic hull and superstructure built up, and then a friend in Germany told me about the upcoming Revell Germany kit.

I'm using just about all of the available Perfect Scale Modellbau upgrade kits, as well as an RB Barrels brass and turned aluminum cannon. The mantlet is largely scratchbuilt, and I'm going to be adding lots more scratchbuilt details here and there. Like I said earlier, I really like tank destroyers, and the KaJaPz 4-5 is one of my favorites.

Hi there David and Jenny too.

That is a very nice looking Centurion. Is it an AFV Club one?

Hey there Jenny, when I build an Aussie Centurion to go with my M-113 Fire Support Vehicle (1/35 Tamiya) I can always put in a padded turret floor just for you. VBG

Cheers from Peter

OOPS! I just re-read David's post and he states there that it's an AFV Club kit.
